We’re promoting a bold and clear vision of a greener, healthier world, one powered solely by clean, renewable energy. We’re also taking concrete steps right now that will bring us closer to the world we want to live in. Our 100% Renewable campaign is focused on the arenas in which we can make the most immediate progress, like states, cities, and college and university campuses.
Transportation accounts for 41 percent of all greenhouse gas emissions in California. Some of that is from trucks and buses. But even our passenger vehicles are responsible for 28 percent of our state’s total emissions.
In order to clean up our air and stave off the worst impacts of climate change, we need to electrify our transportation system — and in particular, our cars. And in order to keep pace with the goals on electric vehicles (EVs), we need to build more charging stations. That’s why we’ve set a goal of reaching 1 million charging stations in California by 2030.
